Since this involved 2 of my favorite things, I just had to post about it. Since it involves jailbreaking your iPod and mutilating a perfectly good moleskin I don’t think I will be doing this anytime soon, but it’s a fun thought. I’ve always thought the iPod would make a great book reader.

"The truth is that, like Graham Greene, my faith is sometimes that my faith will return. It's something I struggle with a lot." - JK Rowling

I confess, I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. I find the story, characters, and the entire world fascinating. MTV has posted a great interview with JK Rowling with details about her feelings on religion and Harry Potter.

In it she describes her faith as

“The truth is that, like Graham Greene, my faith is sometimes that my faith will return. It’s something I struggle with a lot.”

I found that to be profoundly real. I can see this sentiment in her characters. After years of working with teenagers, I think a lot more of them than we would care to admit also share her feelings. I’ve seen so many students over the years struggle with faith in what they cannot see, and so many of them won’t admit it because they are afraid of what you or other students might think of them. I applaud Ms Rowling for admitting her struggle, I hope she has people in her life that encourage her in her faith. I also hope I can be that encourager in the lives of those that I come in contact with.
